The North’s biggest and most diverse video gaming expo is back! Play Expo is returning to Manchester’s EventCity for its third successive year. Taking place 11th and 12th October 2014, Play Expo is expanding considerably and will now feature FIVE absorbing events, under one roof!
Along with the familiar areas from the previous years, (Now.Play, Re.Play, Cos.Play and Pro.Play,) there is also new area called Screen.Play. Here you will find displays of movie props, memorabilia and film and TV Personalities to meet.
Personally I could spend all day in the Re.Play section, playing endless arcade machines and pinball tables. In fact, last year I pretty much did.
Announcements via the Replay Events site (and current highlight for me) is that Mel Croucher, the programmer behind 80 gaming classics Deus Ex Machina and Pimania, will be appearing at Play Expo this year too. Details here – http://www.playexpo.net/2014/05/29/3875/
Other celebrities making an appearance are the stars of Red Dwarf, the team behind software house Cinemaware, and a range of Star Wars actors! (Darth Vader, Bobba Fett and R2D2 actors!)
