Meet Alf, the 202 year old Alien Life Form (hence his name) who after having to leave his home planet of Melmac because it, well, exploded, ended up on Earth by crashing into the Tanner family’s garage roof. That’s where it all began, and now the family have the pleasure (well some of them do) of taking care of the homeless creature.
Alf (although he was actually called Gordon on his home planet) does his best to fit into his new surrounding. He does, however, have a few problems getting to grips with a few things, like tact, mannors, and generally knowing when to not to say or do things (and that includes not eating the pet cat). Well, afterall, he is short and hairy, so I suppose he does have an excuse. Despite constantly destroying things (particularly the kitchen), he does have a heart though (actually, it’s in his ear).
The kind hearted family consist of four members. First there is Willy, who is the father of the family. He is intrigued by him, but some times Alf’s little ways of life does get to him.
Next there is Kate, the mother of the family. To say that she hates Alf would be a little hard. Let’s just say that she wouldn’t trust him as far as she could throw him. He is a bad influence on the family, but she does her best to tollerate him.
And then there’s the two kids, Lynne and Brian. Both of them adore him, and in their eyes, he can’t do anything wrong.
And finally, we must not forget Lucky, the family pet. It’s difficult to sum up an animals feelings, but you get the impression that Lucky is terrified of him (well, wouldn’t you be if a hairy alien constantly chased you about the house calling hear dinner, dinner, dinner?)
