I recently had the genuine pleasure of chatting to a man who loves 80s TV shows so much, he tried to arrange reunions for the original stars of Fame, Dallas, Grange Hill and The A-Team. He’s a radio presenter, a lover of Conventions and he has maybe the best hair of anyone I’ve ever spoken to. It was the lovely Justin Lee Collins.
In preparation for this interview I had written about 30 questions. To my mind, 30 questions would make a good 30 to 40 minute interview. That was how it worked on previous interviews, so I stuck to the formula. I hadn’t planned on Justin being so thorough with his answers and generous with his time.
In the end I only asked about 8 scripted questions and our chat went on for a full 90 glorious minutes.
We discussed TV, Music, Toys and Games, Bring Back, Convention Crashers, Friday Night Project… it was THE most thorough chat I’ve had in a long time and I don’t mind saying I enjoyed it SO much. I think “JLC Chats To” would make a great podcast series.

It is so fascinating to listen to you two, I am following you on twitter, I am AlJay_Robins, The 80’s was the most amazing time to be growing up. I was 5 in 1980, And I can relate to so much that you have covered here. My first console was a Grandstand, And then I had a Atari 2600 my favourite game on that was Pheonix. then the Spectrum X2 128k then the Amiga and so on. I have an amazing memory for film and TV diolog, And some years ago I was working on a Star Wars fan film with friends of mine up London, and on evening they played me intros to random 80’s TV programs. And out of 50 I named 48 before the main tune and lyrics started. My favourite song is from 1987 It’s Black Wonderful Life. I would add Mr Collins on Twitter But there is more then one Twitter account on him. Which is the real one?. The Website panel down there is where I put my YouTube Channel link, I do over 180 Impersonations of Actors, Singers, Cartoons and puppets. Only got 17 up on You Tube at the moment it is a work in progress thing. LOL! Anyway I think I have bored you enough. All the best sir have fun!.
