I proper love compilations of old games. Back in the 80s, back when the games weren’t old, I would often buy compilations. Softaid, The Ultimate Collection, They Sold A Million… My WHSmith faux-leather cassette box was full of them. (I had to lie the bigger cased ones down, obviously.)
But now, right here in the 2020s, Pixel Games UK is pleased to announce the release of Attic Archive. Releasing on September 3rd for Xbox Series X|S and PC, this collection of retro classics (developed by Imagine Software) faithfully reproduces an assortment of games originally released in the 1980s for the Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, and Sinclair ZX Spectrum home computer systems.
Attic Archive includes standouts like Arcadia, N.O.M.A.D. and Skatin’ USA alongside the once-controversial B.C. Bill, and often forgotten Mutant Monty sequel Mutant Monty and the Temple of Doom.
Delivering a heavy dose of nostalgia to gamers of a certain vintage, but accessible to anyone experiencing these games for the first time, Attic Archive features games from Ocean Software, Arctic Computing, Imagine Software, and Atlantis. All available on your Xbox Series X|S or PC.
Thirteen forgotten retro gems are included in Attic Archive, with up to three different versions of each game to play. The full list is below:
● Ah Diddums (C64, ZX Spectrum)
● Arcadia (C64, ZX Spectrum)
● Armageddon (C64, ZX Spectrum)
● B.C. Bill (C64, ZX Spectrum)
● Gilligan’s Gold (C64, Amstrad CPC, ZX Spectrum)

Each title comes complete with a faithful 3D-rendered recreation of the original game’s cassette tape and case, which users can admire as part of Attic Archive’s unique and nostalgic menus that will take you right back to the 80s. Fully remastered instruction manuals and a range of classic display filters are also included with each game to add to the collection’s classic look and feel. Plus, all games have been updated to support save states, a rewind feature, and fully remappable controls.
Attic Archive will release worldwide on September 3rd on Xbox consoles and PC via the Microsoft Store for £5.99 / $7.19 / €7.19. (And, lets be honest, Gilligans Gold alone is worth the £5 on its own!)
