Set free by the Teen Angels from his pre-historic block of glacier ice comes the worlds first super hero, Captain Caveman. Now the constant companion to the Teen Angels; Brenda, Dee Dee and Taffy, in their hilarious and sometimes scary mystery missions. Get ready for Captain Caveman and the Teen Angels!

If the phrase “Cavey-wavey” means anything to you, then you are truly a child of the eighties. This was yet another classic from Hanna-Barbera. As with all HB cartoons, you either loved it or you hated it. I certainly loved it.

If you’ve never seen it before, then I can best compare it to Scooby Doo (everyone has to have seen Scooby Doo unless you’ve been living in a hole for your entire life). Basically, take Scooby Doo. Take away Scooby, then swiftly whip away Shaggy. Remove the homosexual guy (oh come on! He must have been batting for the other side if he preferred solving mysteries than doing “something else” while being near to Daphne!), and then add a sprinkle of Caveman and there you have it.

It’s really the same sort of storyline, just with different characters. They would find themselves in a usual everyday situation when along comes a mystery that needs solving. Think of Scooby Doo, and you can imagine the rest.

Cavey is not your average superhero. For a start, he’s a lot older than you would usually find (cavemen are usually quite old in my experience). Yes, he can fly, but usually ends up on a heap on the floor probably due to the fact that in his time there were no such things as doors. He has incredible strength and can pull any item he needs out of his abounding fur. And every superhero has their catchphrase, his was just basically yelling his name at the top of his voice while looking like a poodle that has just been removed from the microwave and plugged with 2,500 volts.

He may sound like a normal superhero to you, but I would prefer it if he wasn’t Earth’s only chance if it came to saving the world.

Unlike the characters in Scooby Doo, the Teen Angels were not the most intelligent in the world, except probably for Dee Dee though. She seemed to be the brains of the outfit. Nether the less, they always managed to solve whatever mystery happened to fall in their direction.
